Subtitling 3.0: Awareness campaign and knowledge exchange

In addition to the core research described on this page, Subtitling 3.0 organises a series of industry-facing activities with two main aims:

𝟭.    𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴
Through a research-informed lens, we share insights on the value and impact of subtitling, innovative subtitling approaches and their pros and cons, how various factors influence audience immersion, comprehension, and engagement, and the role of subtitling in accessibility.

𝟮.    𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀
Design and deliver practical training sessions, workshops, and insights to subtitling and media professionals, promoting innovative, high-quality subtitling practices across the industry.

How do we achieve this?

1. Social Media

We maintain an active LinkedIn page where we post insights, industry reports, and more once a week.

2. Practical webinars

We deliver free practical webinars that review the existing literature on the impact of subtitling on viewers' understanding and engagement, as well as the potential of innovative subtitling practices. We also offer hands-on practical training on Enhanced Subtitling.

Last webinar date: 13 April 2026
Future webinar date: to be confirmed

If you wish to register for a future webinar, please fill in the form below.

2. Knowledge Exchange

We produce industry reports and videos to make research and insights more easily accessible to a non-academic audience.
These materials are free and available for download to anyone who finds them useful.
You might want to use them for your personal education, add them to your website, or show them to clients to strengthen your argument for high-quality subtitling.

For industry reports also see LabToScreen project: From Lab to Screen and Subtitling Audiences Network

4. Useful resources

We maintain a Zotero Library that is continually updated to keep professionals and academics aware of research on subtitling impact and innovative practices.
